Can really use some help here… I converted a .flv file to MPEG; it plays fine in Windows Media Player (video and audio). However, when imported into Premiere Pro (CS-3) the video plays fine but NO audio at all whether clip is played in timeline or monitor. Usually when an MPEG clip is dropped into the timeline I can see it on the video track AND audio track… but not with this clip. I converted a number of .flv clips to MPEG (MP2) and all play the audio in WMP but not in Premiere.

I’m running on WindowsXP (all updates current). I’ve never had this problem in the past. Would deeply appreciate any suggestions.

I greatly enjoy creating DVDs for family, friends, and personal use. Although not a “video whiz-guru” I am not a green novice either and have been using my CS-3 suite for ~4 years.
    Thank you!

So first of all, as you may know, MP2 is a heavily compressed Long GOP codec so that would not be many folks first choice.

Not sure on Windows if you have a good intraframe codec. In any case, convert the audio to uncompressed PCM and bring that into Premiere and mate that with the video. I am betting that Premiere is not liking the version of whatever audio codec your mp2 is using.

    Good Luck,
    Robert
