This is a stupid question again. My captured video is in dv-avi format, when I move the file to vegas in order to edit it, somehow I cannot hear the audio. I don’t understand if I have to capture the audio separately ow what? can someone help me with this..

Assuming there is audio in the DV-AVI file, have you accidentally turned on Options – Mute Audio?

Exactly..that’s the problem. I already checked everything from the mute to audio icon but there is nothing wrong.
I tried to play my source file using windows media player and it works, there is a sound in the video. But somehow when I import it into vegas, and try to do some editing, the sound won’t came up.
    Thankssssss

Ok, what’s the source of the file? Why type of audio is in the file? There are some types that Vegas won’t read. Try converting the audio in some other program to WAV.

Thanks a lot Edward. I guess you’are right, I tried to convert the audio into WMA and it works perfectly. I guess vegas can’t read the DV-AVI audio format.

    THanks

Actually, Vegas reads the DV-AVI format just fine. That’s the type of file it captures by default. I’m not sure the file you have *IS* a DV-AVI file.
