  • audio pop/scratch after audio event trim

    Very odd,

I resize (trim) the audio event of a video clip. When I play the clip from the beginning, there is a an audible crack/snapple or pop which appears to come in a second or a fraction of a second into the clip.

I can’t seem to get rid of it. I tried cross fading, fading, etc but I’d have to fade too far into the clip for the crackle to vanish.

    Ay ideas?

Have you rendered it and still hear the crack/snapple or pop?

No I haven’t tried that Steve since it is always in the exact location.
    I’ll try this today.
    Thanks.

Do that, because often during intense edits, glitches appear
in preview, but not in final render.

Is the sound crack visible in the audio waveform (you may have to zoom in quite a bit to see it)? If so, I have inserted a Volume Envelope to the track and added points to the left, right and at the crack. Pull down the point at the crack point to “eliminate” it. If this affects your overall sound, you can cut a small section of audio from elsewhere in the event and paste it on the track below to create a “filler” to the lack of audio created by the volume envelope edit. See an example below.

    Thanks Andrew.
Oddly enough it wasn’t visible, even magnified.

The good news is that in the export/render, the snap doesn’t exist.
    So… all is well.
    Thanks again.
