Activity Forums VEGAS Pro Audio pops and clicks

I’ve been noticing an annoying problem when editing hi def footage in Vegas–although my source audio tracks are clean, editing and manipulating the tracks on the timeline tends to produce pops and clicks that turn up over and over again in the same spots during playback. These even seem to migrate into the AVI and subsequent Flash renderings that I perform.

Would it be helpful to try manipulating any of the audio buffering options to counter this? I’m not experiencing any dropouts during playback, just low volume popping andor clicking.

    Thanks in advance,

    Carl

I’m not sure this is pertinent to you, but I’ve gotten pops and clicks when I inadvertently split an audio file. You would think the underlying data would remain unchanged if you split the file and leave the two pieces joined. Not so.

The solution is to delete one of the two pieces and then extend the remaining event to the correct duration.

You know, now that you bring it up, I believe my videos have the same thing in common. However, for the most part the splits that I insert are on purpose and necessary in the training videos I produce.

So the next question: is there a method for mitigating this noise while still being able to split the video when we need to?

    Hi Carl,

Have you solved your problem yet ?

I have exactly the same annoying problem – for a program which is made specifically for cutting up video clips and pasting them back together it’s a pretty serious bug I’d say, and it prevents me from working – I’m determined to get to the bottom of it.
