Audio popping on layoff/reference input not detected
I’m at a kind of big facility and we’re having some trouble laying off HD from a DeckLink HD Extreme (6.6.5) FCP (6.0.3) to a Sony HD-CAM SR deck. We get sound pops or dropouts. My engineer thinks it’s a sync issue which brought me to realize a weird anomaly with the DL card:
When I reboot my machine and go to the DeckLink System Preferences, at the bottom of the window it will say “Reference Input Detected” but when I launch Final Cut and re-check the DeckLink System Preference the bottom of the window will say “Reference Input Not Detected” and will remain that way until I reboot again.
We have verified that my machine is receiving house sync and that it is the correct reference for the project.
I don’t know if the reference and audio popping are related but I’d love to be able to do a proper HD layoff. Any thoughts or suggestions?
