  • Audio Pop during transition

    Hope someone could help me.

I have a sequence cut with various audio transitions. I used the “Cross Fade (0db)” transition between clips and when i play back the audio, i can hear heavy pops at the head and tail of the transition. Isn’t transition effect suppose to make the audio clips dissolve into each other cleanly??

    Thanks for any possible feedback.

Yes it is, and actually if you don’t want your audio to sound like it dips in the transition, you want to use the +3dB transition.

What type of audio are you using. You want to be using 16-bit 48K stereo aiff files. Definately not MP3s, as they always cause popping.

    Best,

    Also…

Just make sure you convert your audio cd to 48 (like your timeline) and don’t leave cd audio at 44.1.

These audio dissolves I’m making are from just dv files via firewire, captured at 48k, 16bit. Would trashing preferences fix the problem?? The pops sound really annoying and loud.

i will try the audio dissolve “fade +3” to see if it works, but please anymore suggestions would be appreciated. thanks.

trashing prefrences always seems to fix problems when other things don’t. Give it a try. I can’t think of anything else right now but if I do I’ll post more.

I fixed the pops by deleting all the rendered audio files… now the audio on the timeline shows green (RT). But why should there be pops after rendering? Anyway, it’s fixed. Thanks.
