  • Audio plugins and time line?

Posted by Jozel Laser on February 15, 2011 at 4:58 pm

    Hello,
Is there any possibility to use audio plugins in Sony Vegas 9 with Timeline?

    How to do that?

    Peace

Yes, Click on the effect icon in the header (left side) of the audio track. There are 3 effects already there by default. To add another, click the effect icon in that window and choose from the list of audio effects. You can also put an audio effect on just one event on the timeline by right clicking on it and choosing effects. Hope this helps, Danny Hays

    Hello Danny,
Thanks for interesting in my problem.

When I asking about audio effect on the timeline, I mean that use the audio effect like usual used timeline in Video FX.

I have not been able to do that….you need to do different tracks or automate them if you wish…

Yes you can use audio pluggins but to control them in time, you need to click the little down arrow next to the audio effects icon in the audio track header. Then select the effect and check the parameter of it you want to control and an envelope for it will appear. You can double click on the envelope line and add points where you want to change that paremeter and drag the envelope line up or down after the added point to change that paremeter. Have you worked with envelopes before?

    Hello,
Thank for your reply. Unfortunately I can’t see any arrow next to audio plugin Icon ;-(

I can’t see also FX Automation in My Insert/Audio Envelopes menu (link below):

    Maybe that’s the reason?

    I have a Sony Vegas 9.0 Platinium.

It may be the version you are using, I use Vegas 10 Pro…I am not sure what you are able to control in Platinum.

Thanks Scoot for your observations. I hope that is not the main reason for my problems.

In Movie Studio there’s no audio plugin automation/keyframing so you can’t change effect parameters during or between audio events on a track. You only get pan and volume automation. Video tracks get effect automation though…

You cannot apply different effects to each audio event on a track either – effects are only at the track level.

You must either use a separate track for each effect setting, or apply non-realtime effects to individual audio events (right-click the audio event and select “Apply non-real-time event FX”.

I must must invent another way to solve my problem. Maybe i try to apply an effect in Acid Pro and then apply into my project.

Once again, I want to thanks for help for everyone.
