Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy Audio plugin

    Hi folks
I edit for broadcast, often with tight deadlines and although we idealy audio post everything the reality is there is not always time, and so end up with a quick APP in FCP. I’ve had FCP4.5HD for 6 months now and am finding the audio filters a little basic. Our APP (Pyramix) has a great interface which shows the EQ envolope shape and meter displaying the compressor/limiter kicking in. Without going to the expense of Logic, is there a simple plugin which will give EQ and compression with a graphical interface rather than just a slider with a frequency number on it. I need to see (!) what the filter is doing with the sound.
    Many thanks

    David,

Pyramix has fantastic EQ and very good dynamics processing. You will not come close to emulating it with FCP plugins. Also FCP is not a sophisticated audio editing tool. Editing accuracy sub frame is a minimum requirement. I know the temptation is to finish audio in FCP, but it will take longer to acheive an inferior result, compared to audio on most systems. Pyramix is particularly good and you will hear a world of difference.

    Thanks Michael
I prefer the results from the Pyramix also, unfortunately its just not possible to put everything from 3 busy FCP’s through one audio guy. Finance dictates that some short inserts must be finished in the FCP. Are there any recomended AU plugins I could demo for EQ and compression/limiting?
    Cheers
    David
