Yes, I know… AE wan’t made for audio audio.

I’m using After Effects because of it’s great scripting abilities and need to output constant audio while batch replacing audio on the fly. Constant audio being “-10dBfs”. When audio isn’t compressed/limited at output replacing audio files can produce unwanted results without monitoring these replacements audio files after output and manually fixing the audio and re-importing… this defeats the scripted process. ALL renders are run through a final QA check, but I’m trying to minimize bad files and optimize audio making it to broadcast files.

Anyone out there making audio effects for AE? AE’s current audio tools are very basic and no one seems to be making third-party audio plug-ins. VSTs and AUs get no AE CS4 love. I’m thinking of trying to write something in Pixel Bender, but I’d hate to go down that road to find out it already exists or that it’s not possible.

Anyone out there feel me? Thanks for the love…
