Once or twice a week, when playing out my 2 min. sequence, the audio starts to freak out and stutter at some random point down the timeline. The video continues on as normal. If I start and play again, usually plays fine. Sometimes it’ll keep doing it until I restart Avid or the computer.

It’s so intermittant though, that I can’t really do any tests (e.g. playing an audio only sequence). I haven’t noticed it with source clips, but rarely play those for any length of time. I don’t think it’s a firewire issue because I can hear the stutter through the headphone output of the CPU as well.

    Any thoughts???

What’s your system configuration and storage setup? You should have at least 2GB of RAM for HD, preferably 3GB. And your storage may not be fast enough to keep up with the audio and video so your audio is stuttering. It sounds like it’s really close since the problem is intermittent and random, but that may be the issue. Also, do you have a Mojo hooked up? If so, try unhooking it and see if it helps.

    Michael.

I’m running 3Gb of RAM and my media is stored on a Dulce Raid via SATA. It’s fairly full, but no partiion is more than 87% full. And no Mojo.

Anyone have any thoughts about this? It’s getting really annoying and will be a problem when it comes time to layoff.
