  • Audio playback in Premiere Pro CC not consistent

When I playback my sequence in the timeline audio does not always playback? Even if I play the video clip in my source window the audio playback is not consistent. As you can imagine this can make editing difficult if you have to keep hitting the spacebar to get the audio to play. My sequence settings are created by using New Sequence from clip option.

I put my Premiere project in (Documents/Adobe/Premiere Pro/7.0) on my Startup disc. I have my media on a Raid drive inside my Mac Pro. The media is native AVCHD shot with a Canon C100 camera. I bring the media in directly to Premiere Pro with no transcoding. I have tried transcoding some clips to apple Pro Res and I still have the same problem.

My Mac Pro is a Early 2009
    Processor 2 x 2.26 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
    Memory 32 GB 1066 MHz DDR3 ECC
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 2048 MB
    Software OS X 10.9.1 (13B42)

I have allocated 29 gigs of ram for Premiere Pro. All of my other apps are closed while I work in Premiere Pro.
I use the Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration Open GL
I use a Kona LHi AJA card, I have updated to the last firmware.

I don’t know what else to try any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks
    Harry

Your problem is an issue with the AJA card and premiere. You need to have it set up just exactly right. I suggest calling AJA tech support they will tell you the secret. I’m not near my computer right now otherwise I could give you the steps. But mine is now working perfectly. After all sorts of hell with audio.
