Hi, I’m trying to add music to a video in Final Cut Pro 5, but when I play back the timeline I can only view video with no audio, or audio with no video.
I am currently at uni and several technicians and tutors have been stumped by it
does anyone know how to resolve this?

    thanks
    ewan

    A few things to check:

Do you get audio at the Finder/OS level? or no audio at all?

Are you using a I/O card like Blackmagic or AJA? If so, your audio may be routed out from the I/O card and not your Mac system audio. Check your Project settings.

Make sure your volume is up.

Make sure you are not muted.

Go into your system prefs, click sound, and click the output tab. make sure the device you want is selected and the the volume is up.

Make sure your speakers are on and connected to the output source.
