audio playback
Posted by Tvgirl79 on July 13, 2006 at 6:14 amI use FCP 4.0 and I was playing back an entire sequence, when the audio suddenly cut off. It was playing fine at the beginning. Could there be something wrong with my settings?

July 13, 2006 at 2:37 pmWow — open ended questions like that are cause for MUCH debate.
We could just answer:
Maybe
And leave it at that.
However… we’ll need to know:
1) Are you sure your audio goes all the way to the end?
2) If it shows in your timeline that the audio DOES go to the end… dbl click it and send the audio up to the viewer… does it show waveforms all the way to the end? (or you can see that in the timeline by apple-option(or control)-W… (sorry I forget which one… usually just mash buttons anyway.)
3) How many layers of audio do you have where it cuts out?
4) Does it cut out at the same place every time?
5) Try Apple-Option-R to render down the audio just to make sure.
6) Maybe something else I haven’t thought of…CaptM

July 13, 2006 at 9:58 pm1) audio goes all the way to the end
2) it show waveforms all the way to the end
3) just two layers, left and right channels
4) the sound stopped altogether everywhere. One second the sound was playing and the next it wasn’t. I checked itunes to make sure it wasn’t a speaker or computer thing, but that worked fine.
5) I had just imported the video clip and dropped it in the timeline, but I hit Apple-Option-R just for the heck of it.
6) I’m stumped…I appreciate you looking into this.
