  Audio over SPDIF cuts out on Decklink Pro

  I searched the archives but didn’t find anything like this.

  I have a Dual 2.0 G5 running OS 10.3.8 and using a Decklink Pro card. I have the version 4.7 drivers installed. Sometimes when playing a timeline in FCP the audio will cut out about every 10 seconds for a second or two. This is only over SPDIF which I am monitoring via a Pioneer receiver via digital coax. The audio going out over SDI is fine.

  I have lived with the problem because I usually edit with headphones monitoring audio from a deck (home office). When I don’t have a deck i hear the audio cutting off via the receiver. I have even done a complete install of the software since the problem started, but it still happens.

  Any ideas?
