I’m capturing a music concert that was recorded on digibeta with 4 separate channels one per instrument. I am capturing through AJA IO SDI AES/EBU audio. When I preview the audio I can hear each channel fine. When I lay it on the timeline, all 4 tracks show up, but I can’t hear channel 3 and 4 unless I put those tracks up on 1 and 2. Why is that? I’ve edited with up to 10 audio tracks before with narration, SFX and music and can hear all of them fine. This is the first time however, that I’ve edited a video with 4 embedded audio tracks. Am I missing something or need to fix a setting or something?

Thanks for any of your suggestions!

FCP is doing what it’s supposed to do, play four discreet channels to four discreet outputs. If you would like to hear all for track at once you need to do one of two things. Either route the four channels out of the IO into four channels on your mixers and pan those to outputs 1&2 of your mixer or right click the track selector section of the timeline for channels A3 and A4 and change those from 3&4 to 1&2.
