    Hi,
Does anyone know why I keep getting a ‘Error opening sound component’ intermitantly when (a) ram previewing and most annoyingly (b) when trying to render a wav out of After Effects.

All clips have been imported as 16bit 48Khz and my preview settings in After Effects are set to the same specs.

As I say the error is intermitant. If I persist in exporting a wav from the timeline eventually it works.

Is there something I am doing wrong? I don’t usually use after effects to put an audio edit together but I needed to time up the sound fx to the animation I was making and did not want to recreate it in Premiere or Pro Tools.

Here is a list of my setup.

PC runnning Windows 2000, After Effects 6.0 and Quicktime 7.0.2

    Thanks A lot

    Regards

    Chris

Upgrade to the newest version of QuickTime. This was a known problem with QT 7.0.2.

    Hi Timothy,

I have upgraded to the latest version of quicktime (v7.1) and am still getting the same error on render. Could it be that I need to upgrade to quicktime pro? I don’t see why.

If you have any ideas it would be much appreciated.

    Thanks a lot

    Kind Regards

    Chris
