I’m not sure if this has been covered yet, but I can’t find anything on it. Ok, I have my DV deck hooked up to my computer via firewire for output and I have all my settings right, but for some reason the audio on my monitor plays with heavy distortion. It is not because of:
    -incorrect importing
    -My monitor
    -Incorrect FCP output settings
I checked all of those things and I have had it work fine before. I fixed this problem before but I forgot what I did. Can anybody help?

I have a dream…that all media production is 5% technical/95% creativity and not the other way around.

    OK, I’ll play.

I’m going to guess that you have your camcorder’s audio output (which is LINE LEVEL) feeding into a MIC LEVEL input on your monitor amplifier or speakers.
