audio out of sync on export

My project settings are set to HDV – 1080i60
The total length of the project is 2:39:51;14

I select my sequence and go to File>Export>QuickTime Movie…
Setting: Current Settings
Include: Audio and Video
Markers: None
Recompress All Frames: NOT Checked
Make Movie Self-Contained: Checked

When I play the resulting QuickTime movie back the audio begins to slip a few minutes into the movie and is like that way throughout.

However if I export as I did above, but only select a small portion of the sequence the movie has no sync issues.

Does anyone have any ideas why this is happening? Is it because the sequence is so long?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I just had this issue again on another project. Does anyone have any idea why this might be happening?

This is not a reply but a request for info if you find any. I, too, am having the same issue happening – whether I export via QT or Compressor – same problem. I’ve recently upgraded to 6.0.3 – don’t know if that’s the cause or ? Would love to hear anything from anyone having same issues or having a fix! 🙂

I was having the same issue.
I think it had something to do with video vs audio frame rates.
I ended up exporting the video alone using the current sequence settings, re-importing it, re-synching it with the audio, and exporting the audio and video together.
It worked. Everything was in synch.

I finally made it!!!!

Step 1: Use the easy set up to “reset all setings to HDV 1080i60”. Then, chage only what you need to adjust.

Step 2: Make a brand new sequence and copy paste al the clips from the old one.

Step 3: Erase all the audio render files.

Step 3: Export
Select the sequence and go to File>Export>QuickTime Movie…
Setting: Current Settings
Include: Audio and Video
Markers: None
Recompress All Frames: Checked!!! (this is very important).
Make Movie Self-Contained: Checked

Checking RE COMPRESS ALL FRAMES works here too but it takes for ages, and there is no point in rendering if you re-compress anyway.
In any event, in the tight deadline situation of the TV station I work for, this is bad.

I started experiencing this issue a few weeks back. I have done hundreds of shows with no issue rendering with re-compress unchecked after rendering the timeline and now it started happening: audio drifts out of sync. (or is it the video drifting).

Naturally when i go “re-compress all frames” the audio is ok.
It is so strange because I know i have no conflict in sampling frequencies or frame rates… this is so weird!
