I shot an interview using XL1. Camera audio was set to 16 bit. Wireless mic was connected to single channel. During interview audio was clean and video was monitored via external monitor fed from composite video out of camera. When I tried to digitize the footage via FCP, the audio slowly goes out of sync. The hour interview ends with the audio being several seconds out. When watching the tape from the camera everything is in sync through out the entire tape.

The computer is Macbook Pro dual core with FCP 6.0.3. Capture scratch is a 500 GB Lacie drive with 100 GB of free space. Camera is connected to Macbook via firewire 4pin to 6pin. Hard drive is connected via firewire 800.

I have checked the actual quicktime file to see if the sync is there or if its just a FCP issue, and the quicktime file is out of sync. So FCP is capturing the clip out of sync. The file is listed in the Browser as NTSC DV 720×480 with 48KHz audio.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Don’t try and bring in one 60 minute clip. Split it up into 15 minute chunks and recapture.
