    I’ve even tried exported, rendered clips but to no avail.

    I suppose it could be the firewire cable but I doubt it. I don’t currently have another to test with but I think it’s really a long shot that it’s the problem.

    Any thoughts?

    Because of a delay between desktop and DV audio playback you can have one or the other, not both. From the wing menu in the Program window, choose Playback Settings. Then select “External Device Audio” and select even if currently selected “DV 29.97i (720×480)”.

    Odd that you can do this in Premiere 6.5. So many things lost in the newer versions.
