    Hi,

When I render my video composition (speaker) at the end of the render i get an error “AVI is not of the expected format”. Additionally when I play the avi file the audio is not synced with the video “Massive delay”. Any suggestion would greatly be appreciated.

To set up my pre-render i choose with audio from the out put drop down. AE 6.5

Thanks for your help in advance

Check your sample rate and compression settings. I strongly suggest you read the manual, you seem to have no idea how to handle even such a basic thing (no offence). Most likely simply your data rates are to high (or your system to slow, depending on viewpoint) to allow smooth playback. Also check your system’s audio configuration. It’s quite possible it introduces some delay.

Actually, I have gotten the “AVI is not of expected format” before. If you’re getting it from within AE during your render or pre-render, you’ve probably got an unsupported (or semi-supported) AVI codec. Try re-exporting for AE in something a little more standard, like Microsoft DV or Uncompressed. As for the “massive delay,” it’s probably a system resources thing and you’ll just have to live with it.
