  • Audio not playing in FCP?

Posted by Adam Heayberd on February 22, 2011 at 5:35 pm

    Okay,

So ive written in alot today but everyone has been great in helping!

This time, its the audio. I import the file, which is 48.0khz, 16-bit integer, (and even did one that was 32-bit floating point) and when I put it in the viewer and play it, the audio outputs show the music to be playing but there is no sound.

The mac is playing sound as when i play the track through quicktime, it works.

Additionally, i put 10 sec of the music on the sequence and quickly exported it. When I played that export thru QT, the audio was there.

Have I not got a setting right or something?

    Please help!

    Regards

    Adam

FCP is probably simply outputting through another device or output. Go to your Audio/Video Settings (opt+cmd+Q) and set your Audio Playback to whatever device you are monitoring through.

Prior to your kind response I did look in the Audio/Video settings and it was set to ‘Blackmagic’ (which is the software that came with the Decklink…

I changed that to ‘default’ and et voila….I have sound.

Thank you very much for that advice!

    Best
