    Good day all,

I am trying to configure my macbook pro to mix with external speakers and I’ve never done it before. My experience with setting up audio speakers comes from the analog days so I need something user and budget friendly. Do you think I will need a mixer interface between the laptop and the speakers?

Thanks so much for your expertise.

    Hi,

Are you just planning to use speakers or planning to add some recording units?

For speakers you don’t need to do anything, just plug in your speakers and you are ready. Alternatively, you can use some Bluetooth speakers if you don’t want to deal with cables.

    Hi

Thanks for the quick response. No recording. I when I edit the only way to mix audio is either with headphones or the mac’s internal speakers which is not ideal. It would be ok if my videos were only played on a computer or a phone but they also play on our projection system in our auditorium which has a very nice Allen and Heath audio system. That is from one extreme to the other.

Do you have any recommended brands?

Hi, Most of the brands will be ok. I don’t want to name a brand cause there are many brands and price tags in different regions/countries. If you have an electronics store nearby you may test some of them.
