Hi, how do people rate the audio mixing capabilities of FCP? Can you do a frame-by-frame audio mix – tuning the audio levels up and down a la key frames with video? Or would it be best to do the audio mix on something like Adobe Audition first and import it?

Seems complicated that, and of course you wouldn’t have the video cues to work to. If anyone has any tips on audio workflow I’d love to hear them.

    Thanks,

    Robin.

Yes, you can mix with keyframes. There are on-screen sliders you can control while watching and every time you move a fader, a keyframe is made.

I sometimes use a Behringer BCF-2000 to physically move faders, but the visual mixer is pretty much the same thing.
