    Hi all,

I’m working on my showreel and I found out that one of my footages which is an .avi file does not have audio when I imported it into adobe premiere. However, when I did a normal playback on my windows media player, the audio was there. I checked out the properties and it stated “MPEG Layer-3” under the audio. Can anyone help? I really need the audio from my footage as I’m compiling my “editor” showreel. Would appreciate it very much if anyone could help.

    Thanks
    myx

What kind of .AVI, its a generic term for many formats.

[myx_motion] ” I checked out the properties and it stated “MPEG Layer-3″ under the audio.”

Is the footage you are trying to use DIVX?

Yes. It was created using DivX Compression. I extracted the video from a DVD. IS there any way I could get the audio to work in adobe premiere?

Divx isn’t the best format for working in Ppro, interleaved with MP3 is very limited, I would search the net for a Divx to DV converter that will convert the MP3 to wav, then it will be easier to handle in premiere.
