  • Audio mastering tips anyone?

    Hey there guys!
I have a problem, i really hate mastering audio and have real problems with that. When I export files for tv i usually make the dialogues below 6db and music below 12db but its so much work. Should I make it louder while exporting eg 2 youtube?
And i cant really find any useful online tips so if anyone would have some useful links or just a piece of advice how to make the audio sound really smooth I’d be really grateful

The requirements of broadcast audio can be complex and if the job is done out-of-spec your program will be rejected. If it’s something you’d rather not do, find an audio post house in your area and have them do it. The specs you mention are not legal in my experience. But, broadcast organizations do have different specs, so be sure to find out what they are from the broadcaster you’re working with.

As for other uses, I usually mix the audio hot, but not so hot it clips. You might want to do the same for YouTube.

You can do what you like for youtube. Proper audio post for broadcast is not recommended for those that “really hate” it.

It is just like saying “I really hate editing so can anyone give me tips on how to do it”.
