  Audio loss when moving AVCHD project from 8.0c to 8.1

  I have been looking at moving from 32 to 64 bit and loaded the 64 bit version of Windows 7 RC onto a spare HD, then Vegas 8.1, and was pleased that a 1920 x 1080 render had become possible.

  However the audio had disappeared.

  On loading the 8.0c file into 8.1 an error message appeared for each of a number of files saying “.m2ts has changed enough that the media stream properties from the project file could not be applied. Default media stream properties were used.” The audio attaching to the video had vanished.

  This does not occur with the trial version of Vegas 9.. but is there a way of avoiding this expensive solution?!
