Sorry to bother the list about this.

I’ve just completed a project and ran into something annoying. Cutting on FCP 6.0.5 (if that matters.)

I logged and transferred clips from a Panasonic HMC-150 (I believe it is AVC intra – if that matters.)

So while I could split/un-link the audio from the picture, I could not for the life of me split/un-link the two audio tracks from each other. I used the “cmd + L” and also turned timeline linking on and off, and nothing worked. I shot the piece using the lav on one track and the on board camera mic on the other, and was trying to adjust Just the levels of one track using the overlay node function, unfortunately if I adjusted one track they both adjusted. Any thoughts? I was under a quick turnaround, so I may have missed something.

    Thanks.

Sounds like they were set up as stereo pairs Steven. In future you can pair/unpair them by pressing Option L (or Modify menu > Stereo Pair)

Also, you’ll want to note the Clip Settings panel in the Log and Transfer window where you can link/unlink stereo pair settings prior to import … which might save you a heap of time down the line

    Hope it helps
