The audio mixer tool (Option+6) lets you view all of your audio tracks at once.

If you mean changing levels on different audio clips simultaneously, highlight the audio clips you want to adjust, and press Ctrl and +/- . Each time you press + or – with ctrl, the audio levels move up or down 1db for all selected audio clips.

    PJ,

Not sure if this is exactly the answer you’re looking for, but if you adjust the levels for one of your clips to your liking, highlight and copy the audio tracks, and select the rest of the clips you need to match levels, you can right-click and select “paste attributes.” A task box will appear and you can check the “levels” box and hit okay. Your adjusted audio levels will be matched by the highlighted clips.

    Good listening!

Another thing you can do is select the clips on the timeline you wish to modify, then hit Apple+Option+L which brings up the audio levels dialog box (Also under Modify>Audio Levels…). You can then enter a number to change the levels, either absolutely (setting the level to the specified dB) or relatively (changing the level by the specified dB). It will make more sense if you try it a couple of times.

Wow… Just when I thought I knew all there was to know about Final Cut!

I’ve been editing in FCP for going on 6 years now and have always been frustrated by having to individually change each clip’s level. Thanks for the “Paste Attributes” tip, wish I would have found this post a loooooong time ago 🙂
