  • Audio Levels High when importing XML into Premiere Pro CS 5.5 from FCP 7

    Hi,

I use Final Cut Pro 7 for most of my Ediitng. I finish a job in Final Cut (mostly cuts, crossfades and Blur Dissolves) that is about 20 minutes. I export it out as an XML. I open up Premiere Pro CS 5.5, I import that XML file into Premiere and the project opens up fine ( I have to replace my Blur Dissolves with one in Premiere and I use Posterize Time to replace the Strobe Effect I use in FCP7) The only thing that confuses me is that the Audio Levels are much higher when I import it into Premiere. I usually have voice over music and when I import it into Premiere, I can hardly hear the voice. Why is this?

Is there a way where I can import it into Premiere and all of the levels stay the same as it was in FCP 7? It really is a pain to have to go through all of the clips and re-do the Audio Levels.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks in Advance

    FCP 7
    Premiere Pro CS 5.5
    Mac Pro
    10GB RAM.

    Hi,

What do you mean by “did any automation come thru?

Was there reframing of audio levels done in FCP….that is also present in PPro?

I you had done this…and that’s missing….it may be that XML doesn’t pass audio level data as part of its specification…
