Need some help with double system sound recording:

Using: Vegas Pro 9, Plural eyes, DWAF, Canon 7D & Zoom H4

Issue: I can sync all my audio and replace the master track with DWAF, and then if I try to make a subclip or use the trimmer my original audio comes up, not the track I just synced in the timeline?

I can edit in the timeline with out any problem, I can copy and paste clips from the timeline into another instance of Vegas and the audio follows without issue, but try to make a subclip to organize footage in the bins or open a clip in the trimmer and the synced audio drops out and my original tracks come up?

I would like to use the bins to organize my footage as I am doing a long form documentary and this would be the way I would like to edit.

Anyone have an answer to this problem?

After you sync the tracks in the timeline, bounce to track. That will give you a new clip with the new synced audio. Danny Hays

So, I figured out “bounce a track” means “render to a new track” tried it, created a new file, selected a section of v&a on the timeline, made a sub-clip and then previewed it in the trimmer, same problem, original 7D audio was back??? not my better quality synced track, ugh.

Did I miss a step? being able to break up my long takes in the trimmer and then add to timeline would be very helpful to edit the project I am working on, rendering HD video just to accomplish this is very time consuming and I would prefer to avoid it if possible.

    Regards,

Did your new clip sound right played from the timeline? You can edit in the timeline very easily. Hold control and drag clip to a new track, this copies it. Then drag the adges of the copy so it leaves you with just what you want. Normal work flow with the trimmer is, from the bin to the trimmer, then to the timeline. If the new track sound right in the timeline, then you must be adding the old one from the explorer, and not your project media window. your new clip will be it there. Danny Hays
