Hey folks – here’s the situation, still testing this beast …

    Setup:
    iMac 27″ Late2013 — 3.5Ghz — GTX 780M 4GB — 1Tb SSD — 8Gb — Mavericks 10.9.1.
Running just the one partition on the SSD, and it’s more than 80% empty.
FCP7 project in folder on desktop, with all assets in subfolders, about 100Gb in folder.

Seeing significant transient audio latencies in viewer window.
Pause, start again and it gets better.
Haven’t yet done a thorough test on the timeline/canvas.
(Not huge files: xdcam-ex, 1080p30, less than 10minutes long.)

I’ve seen a lot of issues reported on macrumors and at discussions.apple.com
about audio problems (esp relating to Fusion Drives, but not exclusively).

Has anyone here running a similar rig seen this sort of thing?

    Next steps might be:
-Partition and put data into Partition2.
-Wait and hope that 10.9.2b or 10.9.3a solves the issue
-return the darn thing and wait for dust to settle
-exchange and spend-up for the latest pro (deathstar/coffee-can/urn) model

Would sure love it if apple offered an officially-sanctioned way to install that 2nd internal ssd …

    Thanks for any feedback!
