I have an AVI that I’ve pulled into FCP and it would appear that the audio is lagging behind the video track by about 3 seconds (based off what I’m hearing and seeing in the waveforms).

    Is this normal?

can it be cured by rendering it out first?

Always regard you all as saviours; be it mental or work wise…

It’s always best to convert footage to QuickTime if you plan on editing with it. It will render faster and work better than leaving it in AVI.

Sync can also be a problem when you’re drives are too full.
