capturing now…..same session…same tape. Tape playback is fine.
Capture clips; some are fine, audio/vid synced as you would expect.
several clips, audio is delayed…video looks fine, but, delay.
    mono/analogue minidv source
    ????????
Is there some “linking” that could help?…
We are saving locally to HD; but, preferences for student accounts are located on server
(is not dedicated room server). Not fiberchannel setup.
Is this bandwidth, connection speed issues?……..
    FCProHD…..nonIntel G5’s…..
    thanks……

It could be any of what you mentioned.

What type of footage are you digitizing? How are you digitizing it (Firewire or Capture Card)? What format are you digitizing too? How fast are your drives (find the AJA system test from AJA.com)?

There are so many thinks that could be impacting this set up.

talking head interviews shot on minidv Sonytrv950..firewire to NTSCDV scratch drive local HD
    G5…………..dual 1.8gz G5

only SOME of clips did this…..confusing..settings match for all……which made me think it was speed of server connection lagging…..
