I’m using a Sony DSR-1500A DVcam deck to AJA ioHD through component cables to Final Cut.

In Final Cut my settings are AJA 23.98 uncompressed with AJA Sony VTR 24 as device control.

The camera used was a Panasonic HVX200 shot in SD at 24 fps onto miniDV. I’m seeing the video but I cannot get audio. The meters are not showing up on the Sony deck either. Is there a compatibility issue? I’ve been ingesting everything via firewire with the camera.

I’m not sure if that deck can play 23.98 tapes. Have you tried capturing from the camera? Do you see audio when the tape is played in the camera?
