Audio issues regarding compression using Bitvice @24p
I have encoded a 2 hour feature with Bitvice using 24p pulldown (16×9). I noticed the outcome of the compressed file has expanded which leaves the audio out of sync (using DVDSP). Meaning it progressively goes out of sync. Any idea or solution on this?

I am sure that I already answered this question, but since I cannot find it here I’ll try again. Maybe a bit shorter this time.
Since the 24p footage gets slowed down by 0.1% when going to DVD (24 fps becomes 23.976 fps) the audio needs to be slowed down by the same amount, making it longer by 1001/1000 ( = 30/29.97 = 24/ 23.976). BitVice does not do anything with the audio track, except possibly extracting it from the QT file, on the user’s request, and saving it in a separate file for further processing (streching, compression et.c.)Roger
