    Hey,

I was wondering if you could help? I use sony vegas pro 9.0c (64bit), running on windows 7 (64bit system). I’ve been using this program for a long time with no problems, up until today, when i tried to import certain avi files (which are xvid, tv downloads) onto the timeline, it shows only ‘video’ not the ‘audio’. I know this is a problem with vegas, regarding codec issues, that sony doesn’t support, as i had this problem back with sony vegas 8. I’ve used gspot etc, and all the codec are installed. What i don’t understand is that it has been working up until now, so there should be no codec issue? And i haven’t installed anything, or deleted anything. Any chance you might no why this could be?

    Any help would be great!

I assume you already know that Xvid and DivX are not supported by Vegas. If you are using a 64-bit version of Vegas you would need a 64-bit Xvid codec.

Anyway the solution is to not use Xvid or DivX so just convert the files with something like AviDemux to a format like Motion-JPEG video with PCM audio and the files should edit fine.

The Save Video button is the second icon from the left on the toolbar (the diskette).
