I have an interview with some some constant hiss. I have been told by editors that there is a method in FCP to isolate and EQ out the hiss if it is constant. Does anyone know how to do this? The hiss is not terrible, but I want to remove it if possible. I would prefer to do it within FCP as opposed to getting additional software. Any help would be appreciated. I am using FCP 7.
    Thanks,

    Dan

I’d probably first try sending it to Soundtrack Pro, assuming you have enough of just the hiss to set a noise print, and use the noise reduction process. If that didn’t work well enough, I might give the parametric EQ in FCP a try. Just realize that you’ll lose more than just the hiss this way.

Hope that helps. Post back with your results.

    Hi,

I find that putting these AU Filter settings on my clips cuts out the hiss.
Make some slight adjustments to suit your particular audio.
