audio gain keyboard shortcut
Posted by Brian Mclean on July 3, 2013 at 8:28 pmIs there a keyboard shortcut to increase audio gain for Premiere pro?
I know i can set a custom keyboard short cut to open the audio gain window, but I do not see a way to increase audio again by +1 or -1 with a keyboard shortcut.anyone?

July 4, 2013 at 12:02 pmJust started working on APP a few weeks ago, after years of Avid and FCP/X. Was discussing this with a fellow editor just yesterday – he’s got much more experience on APP.
As far as he and I know, there is no built-in shortcut for this (such as FCP’s option-[ for +3db or option-+ for +1db). Would certainly be nice if someone at Adobe saw this and implemented one in future releases.
I’m afraid for now you’re limited to exactly that option … opening the Audio Gain dialogue window with a custom keystroke. For what it’s worth, now that I’ve gotten used to it, it goes pretty fast and easy to use while audio sweetening.
Cheers!

July 4, 2013 at 4:01 pmIf you take a look at the Premiere Pro help file for Keyboard Shortcuts, you’ll find that there’s an Audio Gain shortcut which is, by default, not assigned. It should be a simple matter to assign what key stroke you want:

July 4, 2013 at 4:05 pmYes but that only brings up window to increase gain. I’m looking for a keyboard short cut that will increase gain by increments, similar to fcp7.

July 4, 2013 at 5:44 pmThis is possible in the new premiere cc.
It works just like fcp used to, you can increase clip gain by increments with a keyboard shortcut.Dave

April 14, 2016 at 2:53 pmin case someone lands on this thread looking for the answer, open the Keyboard Shortcut panel, and type db into the search box, which should result in 4 items populating the result: nudge volume + and – 1db, and nudge volume + and – 3db
