I had an idea and wasn’t sure if its even possible to do with AE, but I was wondering if it was possible to link the frequency of sound with a color (for something like particular or 3D stroke, etc) So the bass could be linked in the Reds and the trebs in violet or something. The intensity of the frequency would probably also factor into the particle emitter size or frequency.

Can after effects segregate according to frequency? Alternatively I think it would be possible to segregate the frequencies externally and have five versions of a song control five emitters. Any ideas?

i don’t think ae will (atleast not ae7), but i believe trapcode’s sound keys can be used to separate frequency range data from audio. that could then be linked to a color effect.
