  • Audio Frame Rate Problem?

    Hello!

I’m having a problem with my audio in final cut. I’m working with 24p footage from the RED Camera. Somehow the audio cut out for some clips, so someone gave me the audio I needed to sync it up. I synced everything up with the clapper, and everything starts out fine, but by the end of the clip it’s out of sync.

I looked at the details regarding the audio file, and it’s TC 30. Does this mean the audio is at 30 fps, and that’s why it’s not syncing?

Is there any way I can fix it to make it 24 fps?

    Thanks in advance!!

Audio can have embedded metadata which indicates a frame rate, but basically audio works on sample rates not frame rates. What is the file format you have been given?

Importantly are you editing in 24 or 23.976? What way is the audio drifting and how quickly?

The problem may be your edit sequence settings if you are cutting 24frame footage at 23.976 so you need to understand the consequences of that with the audio post production path and your final deliverables.
