  • Audio for some clips in timeline disappeared in CS6?

Using CS6 on Win7, I had a sequence completed. Part of the sequence was a nested sequence that contained several ProRes clips. It was playing perfectly.

I saved the sequence, closed Premiere and opened the sequence 30 seconds later.

The Prores sequence audio tracks now show no waveforms. They are not muted, they are just flat-lined.

If I double click on the original source ProRes clips in the bin, the exact ones that don’t show any audio in the sequence’s timeline, the audio plays just fine.

The other parts of the sequence (other than the nested ProRes sequence) play their audio just fine.

I’m perplexed. I didn’t do anything to kill the audio for these clips in the nested sequence, and have no idea how to restore it???

Found solution. Right clicked on each and every clip in the sequence where audio was flat lined, and chose ‘audio channels’.

    It was set to ‘none’.

    Changed it to ‘channel 1’.

Note: this all worked perfectly before I saved it.

Possibly this was related to copying and pasting a sequence from another project.

This time when I saved, closed and re-opened, my audio was back.

But … this is definitely a bug.

Not sure if this will work…go into your Auto Save and copy the project just before you closed your original and see if that plays. I have known there to be Gremlins!
