    Hello,

I have a 7D and currently use a Zoom H2 for recording audio. However I’m interested in getting a clip-on mic. As the 7D doesn’t have decent audio, a radio mic that plugs in wouldn’t really be an option.

Are there clip-on mics that go to an SD card perhaps?

I don’t have a large budget (£200 max) and was wandering whether there was anything of a professional standard for this price? Or whether I should stick to my hand held until I can afford better.

Any advice is helpful, thank you in advance

While not specifically what you are asking, I bought a pair of Audio Technica 3350 lavs for $20 a piece. They have an 1/8 inch jack and a 1/4 adapter and plug directly into my camera. I’m not an audio guy but I still need to have audio solutions that work. Point is I spent $20 versus say $300 for my zoom h4n, but it easier to record direct to the camera in some cases. Oh and the 20 foot cable doesn’t hurt either.
