I am working on FCP5 and have been doing a lot of work involving music files of popluar tunes – mostly .wav’s that I converted from itunes. Here is the recurring problem; the file itself, on the timeline, not in the browser, is being altered at certain points. In other words, a song by some artist will start with a clip from the third verse instead of the intro, even though there is no edit there and if I match back into the master clip, everthing is still correct. The timecode of the clip on the timeline may read 00;00;00;00, but it is actually playing the part of the song from 2 minutes in and there are no edits, but then a few seconds in, without an edit, it will jump back to the correct music for that timecode. The files on the timeline are actually changing. This is happeneing again and again for multiple files in multiple projects. It has never happened to audio files that I bring in from tape or record straight in to FCP with a mic. Does anyone know what causes this? has anyone else experienced this? is it a bug? is there a problem with my settings? I am very curious to find out what causes this issue. Thanks.
