This is probably a really obvious question, but I’ve still got to ask it just for my sanity’s sake. We have a client who was laying down some FCP sequence to tape and while doing this, was also rendering some AE projects and/or using Compressor for various tasks. My first question…..this doesn’t seem to be a wise idea, but what’s the general consensus on having other processor-intensive tasks going on while editing to tape.

The main problem, though, is that they noticed that the “beeps” that occur when the AE/Compressor tasks are completed are appearing on the tape. Again, I assume this is because the AE and/or system audio output are also routed through the Kona. I haven’t had a chance to check this since the issue was reported, but suggested to the client that they check these settings. Does this sound reasonable?
