Audio Equalizer
We shot a video inside a factory and the talent was on lavs. The audio is OK, but I would like to EQ a little bit to get rid of some of the extraneous sound. Does anyone have a simple FCP EQ solution? We don’t have a budget for sound pro editing.

Have you played with the EQ tools in the Audio Filters?
You can also send that audio into SoundTrack Pro for some more EQ work. Really simple tools in there.

It’s impossible to give a “one size fits all” EQ advise. You need to know what the frequency range of your unwanted noise is, and the frequency range of your wanted noise. Then EQ out anything that is in the unwanted noise range, while generally keeping the wanted noise.
Of course, Apple has made this a lot easier for people that don’t have “trained ears” and that is using the Remove Noise functions, and Spectrum Analyser functions in Soundtrack Pro. It’s pretty easy, even for the audio novice.
