Hello everyone! I’ve been working with video for a while but I’m a total newbie with sound. Recently I got a condenser mic for better sound recording. And my question is how to work with raw sound from the mic? I mean, when you take raw footage from your camera, you apply color correction to it that it looked better, so I’m wondering what do you do with the raw mic audio recordings to make them sound better too? Is there a specific process of enhancing audio similar to the color correction process for the video?

Here’s a good short tutorial from a voice-over talent on what he does to enhance his audio:

As he says, this works for him. You might want to do other things to the audio, depending on the message, context, and your own personal choices. Experimentation will lead you to some of the standards you might want to use as presets in the future.
