Audio Effects in Split Track
I have a drum track. At one part of the track, I want to split it, and add an audio effect (like flanging) into one section only.
Any way of getting the sound to flow more smoothly between the end of the flanged part and the beginning of the next (unflanged) section?
Right now, you hear this kind of click, and a very obvious change from the part with effects and the next part.
Can you fade out an effect, rather than having it just stop dead? -

Try using one track with an automation envelope to turn the flanging on and off. This will sound more natural.

I’m not quite sure what you mean. But I have found a kind of ‘solution’.
I’ve made a duplicate of the section, applied the effects only to the copy, faded that in then out, and dropped the volume on the original. Seems to work.

Right-click on the empty part of the audio track and select FX Automation Envelopes | FX Automation… This will open a window with all of the FX applied to the track and you can select one and place a checkmark next to the parameter that you want to automate. For Flange/Wah-Wah you my want to select Effect. Then modify the envelope that appears to add points where you want the effect on or off.

I’ll have a look at that. I suspect the version I’m using (Sony Movie Studio 13 Suite) may not have all the bells and whistles, but I’ll check it out, cheers. 🙂

Yea, if you’re using Movie Studio, you should probably point that out in your post because most people here will assume that you are using Vegas Pro otherwise. I don’t remember if Movie Studio has automation envelopes.
