January 21, 2006 at 6:14 pmExport your timline as a self-contained movie and import, then export that over firewire and see how that works. Sounds like your drives are not up to the challege.
Hope this helps-

January 21, 2006 at 6:40 pmAlso try an audio mixdown of the audio. That’s OPT+CMD+R. Even if you only have one track, it can be helpful with dropped frame and mysteriously disappearing audio issues. It’s a render file that’s created, not a new media file like in Avid. Just hit OPT+CMD+R and let it go, as soon as it’s done processing, you are good to go. No importing or exporting necessary.
However, if the mixdown alone doesn’t work, the above suggestion after mixing down would be the next best option to try.

I’ve also experienced the audio drop-out problem when exporting a QuickTime Movie from my FCP project. At one point along the timeline the soundtrack is busy with layers of music and several sports sound effects. The sound effects would drop out or the music or both at that point. A co-worker suggested the audio mixdown, as mentioned above, which solved the problem for me.
