    Hey Guys,

I exported a sequence as a quicktime movie with current settings from FCP to my desktop. When I open the exported quicktime movie the audio drops out in places. Everything played back just fine in my timeline inside FCP, so I’m not sure why it’s dropping out after export. I’ve tried exporting my sequence as is, and also nesting my sequence before export. In both cases I still get the same audio dropouts in the same places. Any idea what could be causing this? Thanks.

Try doing “mixdown” before exporting, its one of the many choices available in the render drop down.

Hey, mixdown worked perfectly. I’ve never used that command before, but then again I’ve never tried exporting a sequence with so many audio tracks (12). Do you do this each time before export? Anyway, thanks so much for the tip, I was tearing my hair out trying to figure out the problem.

Glad it worked for you. I don’t actually have the need to do it on my machine for some reason, but others need to do it all the time. Its possibly because I’m using a SATA array and the throughput is high enough to get away without it, but I’m not certain.
